This amazing Lapis oval fascinated me from the moment I first saw it and I knew I wanted it. About a year on the worktable later, as many design possibilities came and went, it is finally ready to wear. The substantial oval of deep pure blue is suspended from a beaded chain of limpid blue lapis nuggets from Afghanistan, with a handmade Basha bead flamework round in an unusual pure azure. Interspersed for variety are African bronze and copper trade beads capping the silken smooth Lapis nuggets.
A Mexican milagro-inspired brass toggle finishes the chain.
About 22" necklace, with about 2.5" focal drop.
